This Set of (6) Sterling Silver Forks was made in the 1930's until the 1950's in Japan. Each piece features a sleek design with a simple symmetrical end. These are made in the shape of the shamisen or samisen (三味線), also sangen (三絃) — both words mean "three strings" — is a three-stringed, Traditional Japanese musical instrument derived from the Chinese instrument sanxian. It is played with a plectrum called a bachi. The sterling spoons and the faux grey alligator skin box are in good shape considering their age. Measures 3 3/4 inches in length.
