Choosing the Right Necklace for Your Look
If you're like me, you own a million necklaces in a million styles (ok maybe that's an exaggeration, but you get my drift). But styling them to create a cohesive look is always a challenge! Here at SilverAndGold.com, we've created a little style guide to help you create gorgeous looks with your jewelry!
Disclaimer!! First and foremost, this is a guide, NOT a hard and fast rule book. If you choose to wear your necklaces differently, that's completely ok! You should always create a look that you feel comfortable wearing because that's what's most important! So read on and hopefully you'll find some new style ideas, but remember this is not a rule book. You do you!
Pendants
I have so many different pendants and I tend to just wear them with everything. But, depending on my outfit, sometimes the necklace gets lost in the look and isn't really noticeable. If you're looking to let your pendant necklace make a statement, wear them with halter style, v-neck style, or button up collar shirts. The shirts allow space for the pendant and gives them the chance to be seen!
Choker Style
I love a good choker style necklace - and these look especially gorgeous with a strapless or off the shoulder outfits! You can also try chokers with a sweetheart neckline as well. My rule of thumb when wearing a choker necklace is that the necklace should not touch my top. If it does, I'll probably change the necklace so it doesn't get lost in the fabric (but I break this rule constantly, chokers under a button up look adorable!).
Long Chains or Beads
Turtleneck and boat neck tops are the perfect time to pull out those long chains or beads! It's a timeless look that is just never going to fail! If the chain is quite long, considering wrapping it once or twice or a layered look. Strands of pearls are also perfect for these tops!
Collar/Medium Length Necklaces with Width
You know what I'm talking about - that necklace that is not quite a choker but definitely isn't a pendant. It's usually fairly voluminous but not particular long. Give this style a try with scoop neck, asymmetric, off the shoulder or sweetheart neckline for additional flair!
